Tree Kangaroo Yarn : Endangered Species Challenge

from $30.00

Tree Kangaroo! This adorable (and endangered) marsupial has totally stolen my heart. I didn’t know they existed before this challenge but they are really cool creatures. They inhabit tropical rainforests in New Guinea, Queensland, and nearby islands and are endangered to to habitat destruction and hunting.

This is the March 2023 colorway of the #endangeredspecieschallenge! A portion of proceeds from sales of this colorway will go to The Nature Conservancy. Check out the hashtag on Instagram to find other fantastic artists working with this series of monthly prompts.

It is available on Woodstove Worsted and Starlight Singles.

Starlight Singles is a fingering weight single ply yarn that is a delight to work with. 95% superwash merino, 5% stellina

Woodstove Worsted is a worsted weight superwash merino/cashmere/nylon that is the coziest yarn EVER.
80% superwash merino 10% cashmere 10% nylon
3 ply, 100 grams, 181 yards

*Handwash care is recommended*
While the wool in this scarf has gone through the superwash process to prevent it from felting, it is best to consider this an insurance policy against accidental inappropriate laundering. When handwashed in cool water and air dried, this cowl will stay soft and elegant for years to come.

All items ship from a smoke-free, pet-friendly, low scent home studio.

As this is a hand-dyed fiber, there are no dye-lots and braids may vary slightly. Alternating skeins is recommended. Some discharge of dye in the first few washings is normal and to be expected, it can be triggered by changes in ph and mineral content of the wash and/or rinse water. I dye in my home studio using well water whose ph and mineral content varies seasonally and may be different from yours.
