Naturally dyed roving: superwash BFL combed top dyed with Avocado and iron

This superwash BFL combed top was mordanted with food grade alum, dyed with avocado, and modified with iron water.
**This particular braid was a bit of an experiment with a second processing of dyestuffs and may have some small bits of organic matter and/or avocado dust in the fiber. I expect it will all come out just fine through spinning and thorough swish of the finished skein. But beware!
Approximately 4 ounces of superwash BFL wool.

This lovely combed top is a fluffy superwash BFL, a next to skin soft longwool that is a delight to spin
As this is a hand-dyed fiber, there are no dye-lots and braids may vary slightly. Alternating skeins is recommended. Some discharge of dye in the first few washings is normal and to be expected, it can be triggered by changes in ph and mineral content of the wash and/or rinse water. I dye in my home studio using well water whose ph and mineral content varies seasonally and may be different from yours.

SUPERWASH FIBER
This wool has been treated to keep it from felting, however it is still best to care for it gently. Please hand wash gently in cool water with a wool friendly wash, do not agitate, and air dry flat.
